sometimes, I wonder. does God make exceptions?
I love God.
I love Dominic.
but loving one means betraying the other...
it hurts... i'm confused... and I wish the dominent superpower would just say a word to make the millenias of persecution stop...
sigh.
anywayz, today Ms Kwa showed the ALICE bot to everybody in class... pretty cool - to people who do not know how to force AI to reveal itself...
Hmm... come to think of it, I guess artificial intelligence is the key to the hassle of red tape all over the world...
BUT. imagine now if everything was ran by AI, almost all services would ground to a halt.
Cashiers will be replaced by robots
Security guards will be replaced by robots
Telephone operators will be replaced by robots
hell, even lawyers might be replaced by robots...
I played a game called Civillization - Call to Power last time... its a branch off the original Civillization series, where the time spans to AD 5000..
it is one of the best games, by far I've ever played, though i've lost the CD already (anybody who has the game can contact me pls pls pls?)
anywayz, in the game, there are many "great wonders" you can build which grants your civillization special bonuses and effects
i.e.
The GreatPyramid = doubles all food storage capacities
The Hoover Damm = Builds a hydro-plant in all adjacent cities with maximum power output
The Colosseum = Decreases the unhappy citizen by one unit in all cities you own
at about the year AD 3000 ++ , you would have reached a technology called Macronaonotechnology II, which would allow you to build this great wonder called the El Nano, which essentially is a megapolis, HUGE pyramid.
This pyramid has an eye on top, and above the eye its written "I see all, I hear all, I know all".
The El Nano is the culmination of all security systems that can be researched and built throughout the entire civillization game...
Essentially, it eliminates COMPLETELY all corruption from the every city, secures all trade routes and monitors the conduct of every citizen...
However, this powerful omniscient god-structure also has its downsides. Every country will have no happy citizen, nor sad citizen, nor angry citizen.
That means that everybody is essentially, unable to express emotions (without being noticed).
There will also be a 25% chance that the citizens will revolt, overthrow that city, destroy that great wonder and rebel against you, if you dont monitor the capital city...
its quite scary, the utopia that technology promises, and yet.... the helplessness that everybody will face to those who control the information...
as I was telling James -
If the beast in the bible were to come to pass, he will be a great wielder of technology and information...
all will have to bow down to him, even if he doesnt have any spectacular powers, merely because he has the world in his hands...
